• Plan and prepare a variety of activities with children both indoors and outdoors

• Understand the importance of health and safety measures in activities with children

• Begin to understand the value of leisure activities to children's learning about the world around them

• Begin to understand the value of shared experiences for family relationships

1.1    Select a range of activities for children of different ages and explain why they are suitable for the age group identified

2.1    Plan activities with a particular learning objective and describe why preparation is important

• For chosen activities, explain potential health and safety hazards
• Outline basic first aid measures to deal with accidents

4.1    For chosen activities, describe the learning that has taken place and suggest how this might be developed
