Family Learning Festival Week
KRL is now taking bookings for the Family Learning Festival Week which this year runs from the 16th - 31st October 2010. We have two options available; 1. A variety of OCN Level 2 training courses to train your staff to deliver family learning activities. These include: Art and Craft Together Balloon Modelling Cooking with and for Kids Creative Cards Glass, Fabric and Ceramic Painting K’NEX Hands on Learning for Tutors Making Games Nail Art Parenting and Family Learning Theatre and Puppet Making 2. Youth Music Open Programme The Youth Music Open Programme is available for organisations wishing to apply for grants of £5,000 to £30,000 to delivery projects that support Youth Music's core goals. The Open Programme targets nearly £2m of Youth Music’s funding towards projects that support their goals of: Early Years – advancing the learning and development of all children in their early years (0-5) by aiming to ensure universal access to high quality music making in England Challenging Circumstances – improving the life chances of children and young people in the most challenging circumstances by supporting them to achieve their full potential through engagement and progression in music making. Encouraging Talent and Potential – realising the musical talent and potential of children and young people by ensuring opportunity for all to develop their talent regardless of background or chosen genre. RSPCA Education
The RSPCA is offering free online tried and tested curriculum-linked education resources written by teachers. There are more than 90 different lesson ideas with teacher and pupil fact sheets, pupil activity sheets and engaging photos and pictures. Their primary interactive resource for KS1 and 2 - Animals and us is linked to the English and Welsh national curricula. Their secondary science interactive resources - Science, ethics and animals is linked to GCSE science. The Ethics court and Value of life activities are designed to stimulate ethical debate and scientific research, and aim to get students thinking about the way we interact with, value and use animals in our daily lives.
