The learner has achieved this because (s)he can:

1. Recognise key responsibilities of        parenthood.

 

  1.1  Identify at least 3 key responsibilities of being a parent.

2. Recognise how to access childcare

    services.

 

2.1  Produce a simple directory of telephone numbers for at least 5

       childcare services.

2.2  Simulate the use of a telephone to contact a childcare service.

2.3  In a given scenario, use appropriate assertiveness skills.

 

3. Recognise the changes which parenthood brings.

 

3.1 State the main areas of change when becoming a parent (e.g. material, relationships, routine)

3.2 Identify the effects of changes in 2 areas.

 

4. Recognise strategies to cope with parenthood.  

4.1  Identify main coping strategies used in being a parent.

4.2  Identify appropriate coping strategies in at least 2 given scenarios.
