1.1    Offer appropriate contributions to group discussions / activities.

2.1    Share and describe an appropriate reading activity from everyday materials e.g. newspaper.

3.1    Extract appropriate information from at least 2 different everyday sources (e.g. directory, magazine) using appropriate reading skills (e.g. skimming, scanning).

4.1    Describe at least 2 opportunities to develop a reading activity or support material appropriate to the child’s needs.

5.1    Describe the child’s literacy needs.

5.2    Describe the child’s interests.

5.3    Develop an activity to extend the child’s reading skills.

6.1    Select further reading materials for self and child.

6.2    Discuss reasons for choice.

7.1    Describe existing reading skills of self and child.
